Workshop Conveners
The workshop will be held on 11-15 September 2017 at the TPU Library of Science and Technology.
Location
Семинар проводится при финансовой поддержке Российского фонда фундаментальных исследований. Проект 17-55-77006.
Who Should Attend
We invite experts from academia and industry — geologists, geophysicists, petrophycisists, engineers, mathematicians and computer scientists — to share their knowledge.
All participants will submit abstracts and contribute oral presentations to the workshop plenary sessions and will network in teams to tackle challenging problems faced by the industry.
The workshop aims to develop and pitch new ideas to the industry community, and to solve the grand challenges in modelling complex geological systems.
Objective
Data & Knowledge
How to make the most of the available data and knowledge?
Complexity
How complex do our models need to be given the uncertainty?
Risk & Uncertainty
How to forecast / predict under geological uncertainty?
Decision making
How can we make the best decisions given the risks / uncertainty?

This workshop is designed to help researchers from all backgrounds to share knowledge, gain understanding and build relationships with other scientists.
Modelling and forecasting of geological reservoirs is a multidisciplinary problem yet rarely do the disciplines work closely together and research efforts are still often done in siloes.
